- Duration
- General SKIMS Method average: 2 to 3 hours (may vary depending on the combination of techniques).
- Sessions
- Usually a single session; a 2nd session may be indicated in more advanced cases.
- Recovery
- Peeling phase of 12 to 15 days (more intense around the eyes, mild on the rest of the face); final result in 30 to 90 days.
- Anesthesia
- Anesthesia is always used — assessed at the consultation, and can be oral medication, local anesthesia and/or applied during microneedling, depending on the treatment indicated. Additional sedation is rarely needed (about 98% of patients do not need it).
The treatment
What is Blefaropeel
Chemical blepharoplasty is an exclusive protocol (BLEFAROPEEL) consisting of a sectorized chemical peel localized to the eyelid area. BLEFAROPEEL is an exclusive technique for eliminating excess skin and laxity in the eyelids, with retraction power strong enough to replace conventional surgical blepharoplasty — besides removing excess skin from the upper and lower eyelids, it stimulates collagen that eliminates eyelid laxity, with a long-lasting result of up to 5 years.
This procedure is also indicated for pigmented/dark under-eye circles, in both younger and more mature patients, treating eyelid pigmentation definitively.
Protocol
How it works, step by step
- 01
Assessment
Assessment of eyelid laxity and pigmentation of the under-eye area.
- 02
Skin priming
Prior priming according to protocol, respecting the required suspension period for topical acids.
- 03
Application
Sectorized chemical peel, with higher intensity on the eyelids and a milder peel on the rest of the face to even out the result.
- 04
Follow-up
Follow-up of the peeling phase, more intense around the eyes, until the final result.

Frequently asked questions
What patients usually ask
Does it replace eyelid surgery?
The skin retraction is comparable to surgical blepharoplasty, but without cuts, surgery or scarring.
How long does the result last?
Up to 5 years or more.
Does it also treat under-eye circles?
Yes — it lightens pigmented under-eye circles, besides intensely stimulating collagen.
